Paladins Weigh in on What Makes Good Paladin Dice
Paladins are the heavy hitters of divine justice—armored, radiant, and absolutely devastating when they decide to smite. Your dice should carry that same weight and authority. Golds that gleam like holy light, silvers that flash like consecrated steel, whites that radiate purity—paladin dice announce themselves before you even pick them up.
Metal dice are a natural fit for paladins. The heft, the commanding sound when they hit the table, the way they sit in your palm like a weapon ready to be unleashed—it all reinforces the paladin fantasy. Gold-plated or brass-finished metal sets are especially popular. But don’t overlook resin sets with radiant color schemes: sunrise oranges, dawn pinks, and bright whites can capture the “beacon of hope” energy that defines the class.
And paladins LOVE to smite. When you declare a Divine Smite and start stacking d8s on top of your weapon damage, the whole table leans in. Make sure the dice you’re rolling in that moment feel worthy of the oath your character swore. Whether you’re an Oath of Devotion crusader or an Oath of Vengeance avenger, your dice should burn as bright as your conviction.
My favorite dnd class is definitely paladin. I love tanking and being the frontline and as my DM calls it, "staying in the pocket" of a fight. First and foremost, you need a LOT of d8s. So much smiting, so little time. I particularly like silver and gold for my paladins. I use metal dice when I can, especially for my heavily armored characters. A little black or white mixed in as well doesn't hurt, depending on their alignment.
Paladins are awesome! Mine took the Oath of the Ancients. The paladin dice need to be shiny, resilient and hit hard. I think my Triton Emerald-Silver set is perfect.
